Sample Language to Include a Gift to KCTS 9 in Your Will

The following is intended to help you and your lawyer in drafting a bequest that meets your individual intentions. 

Please include Cascade Public Media's Federal Tax #91-1221895. Cascade Public Media is the legal name for the organization that includes KCTS Television ("KCTS 9") and Crosscut.

General Bequest

A General Bequest of a stated sum of money may be worded:

"I give to Cascade Public Media, a Washington nonprofit corporation, or its successor [insert here the exact dollar amount]."

Specific Bequest

A Specific Bequest of a certain asset from your estate may be worded:

"I give to Cascade Public Media, a Washington nonprofit corporation, or its successor [insert here a description of the particular property]."

Residuary Bequest

A Residuary Bequest, after other bequests and expenses have been paid, may be worded:

"I give to Cascade Public Media, a Washington nonprofit corporation, or its successor all [or a portion] of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate."

Please note: Unrestricted bequest gifts will be added to the Board Designated Endowment. Bequest gifts can also be designated for restricted endowments if they meet giving policies.
