Note: This is an unpaid intern position, approximately 20 hours per week. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Work days and work shifts are flexible. End date is flexible but we require a minimum time commitment of 3 months. Some evenings and weekends are required.
On-air fundraising is KCTS 9’s largest production in scope, and combines nearly all of the elements of live multi-camera production found on any morning network news show: tape, live interviews, graphics, teleprompter, multiple talents, music, sets, lighting, and special guests. Experience with this production environment is highly sought-after for those entering television or video production as well as those professionals who wish to focus their skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
The On-Air Fundraising intern will be involved in the following tasks: guest, talent, and crew booking and schedules; program research; script conforming and script writing; distribution of schedules; and other duties as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in an educational degree program
- Experience or coursework in Journalism, Communications, or related field required
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
- Proficiency in conducting internet research required
- Familiarity with video formats is required
- Valid Driver's License required
- Flexibility in scheduling required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Attention to detail and good organization skills required
- Video editing experience is preferred
- Knowledge of arts and music highly desirable
